Joining the dots in the Goldfields

When I said ¬†five years ago to the people at the Capital and the City of Greater Bendigo, “You really should have a writers festival in this city”, it seemed like a good idea at the time. This city, with 130,000 people at the geographical centre of a region brimming with interesting people, was ripe for a lively festival all about ideas and the enjoyment of discussion.

Gradually, too, it’s become really clear that a regional festival can be an enticement for a kind of cultural exploring of landscape and history. Continue reading
